My name is Caleb Lara and I’m from San Diego, CA

I acquired theBOX in 2022

It originated at Tuck Business School at Dartmouth College in 2014

My mom is a “guera” from San Diego and my dad is from Tijuana, Mexico

Mexican food, hospitality and culture have inspired me from a young age

My early memories include carne asada cookouts, beaches and Cali burritos

I graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in 2006 and gained experience working for The Ritz Carlton in Naples, FL as well as many other kitchens; including stagier at Le Bernardin in New York City

I moved to Vermont to be as close as possible to my awesome kiddos and travel back west as much as possible to visit family and friends

I’m very appreciative of my partner Donna, our amazing customers, our hard working team and dear friends that have supported us along the way
